You're On A Boat

You were on your way to America on a ship with a ton of people and your family. Last night you went to sleep next to your little brother and big sister having been tucked in by your mother and father. This morning you woke up to the sound of the waves crashing against the ship, but when you opened your eyes the only living thing you could see were rats. You frantically run around the ship searching for any sign of life that didn't have a long tail and little rat teeth with no success. When you're on the deck of the ship you see five items. You can only carry one item, because in your other hand is your lucky protractor and there's no way you're letting go of it. Pick an item: [[rope]] [[monocular]] [[life jacket]] [[flare gun]] [[knife]]

You've grabbed the rope, and decided that you could use this to help lower yourself out of the ship. You look around for something you can tie the rope to that is close to the edge of the ship. The wheel of the ship is something that sticks out to you, its close to the edge and seems easy to tie a rope to. The other thing you notice is the mast, it's thick and not as close as the wheel, but it will definitely be strong enough. Choose one to tie your rope to. [[Wheel]] [[mast]]

You grab the monocular and decide that it would be a handy thing to use to look for other ships nearby, or land that seems close enough to swim to. There are four ways for you to look: left, right, forwards, or behind you. Choose a direction to look. [[left]] [[right]] [[fowards]] [[behind]]

You grab the personal floatation device and then you put it on your body, but you realize while it's on that you cant'e wear the life jacket and also put your lucky protractor in your pocket, becuase the life jacket is too bulky, and you can't swim with your lucky protractor in your hand. You grab the flare gun kit. Your load in the flare, pop it back, and then aim the gun towards the sky and fire it. The flare looks beautiful in the golden hour sunlight. Like a huge meteor lighting up the already firey sky. You're so mesmarized by the beautiful red flare that you didn't notice that a spark fell onto your head! Your hair is on fire! You run around trying to look for a fire extinguisher or some water. In your panic you trip over the rope, hit your hed on the deck and pass out. You burned to death while unconcious. Ah yes. The knife. A perfect tool and weapon all at once. This will definitely come in handy during all of the feats you will come across in your mission to locate people and your family. It is small and will even fit in the same pocket as your lucky protractor. you slip it in your cargo pocket, and decide that you can definitely choose another item to help you. You remember from your childhood learning different types of knots and you choose the best one. You know the knot will hold tightly. You grab the rope and slowly walk over to the gunwale(edge) of the boat and glance down towards the water. You carefully swing one leg over. You feel confident enough in your knot to hold you the whole way down. You're about half way down the side of the ship, and you're about to kick off the side of the boat and jump in the water, when you feel the rope go limp. All of a sudden you see the steering wheel come flying straight towards you and THWACK the wheel hits you and you go unconcious and you fall into the water and drown. [[Start Over->Begin]]

You feel confident enough in your knot to hold you the whole way down. You successfully lower yourself into the water, but what now? You look to your left and all you see is a beautiful horizon with a big round yellow sun, the sky is sort of golden and you decide that left must be the west and it must be late afternoon or evening-ish based on the golden hour effect the sun is giving off. [[look in another direction->monocular]]

You look towards your right through the monocular. There it is. A small, lush, green island. You guess it's about a mile away (why you didn't see it with your bare eyes? You dont have great vision and your parents must have taken your glasses when they deserted the ship leaving you behind). You decide you should jump over the side of the ship and head east towards the island. Except, the monocular won't be helpful on your swim and it is actually quite heavy and will weigh you down and tire you out on your swim. You need to choose a different item to hold along side your lucky protractor. [[choose a different item->Begin]]

You look forward through the monocular and all you see is the big blue sparkling ocean, with some scarily daunting clouds above it. Hmm seems like a storm might be a brewin'. [[look in another direction->monocular]]

You look through the monocular behind you nad literally all you see is ocean. It's not even a spectacular view. Just borning old ocean. [[look in a different direction->monocular]]

You looked through the monocular (because you were smart) and remembered that there is a small, lush green island about a mile east (to your right) and you start swimming, pacing yourself as to not get tired. It doesn't take too long before you finally reach the sandy shore of the island. It's getting to be nightfall and you have two options. You could start a fire to keep warm, but be completely exposed to wildlife and whatever/whoever else could be on the island, or you could try and find some sort of shelter to protect you from wild life and worry about a fire once you find shelter. You didn't look through the monocular and now you're just going to swim aimlessly without any direction and it will eventually get dark and you will either freeze from the cold night air and winds, or you will drown because your body will become so tired that you won't even be able to hold yourself afloat. You look around you too find everything you can to start a fire. First, though, you decide to dig a good sized hole, as a place for your fire. And then you walk around the soft beachy area collecting dry leaves, twigs and a few thic(c)k pieces of driftwood. You've collected all you needed, and now all you have to do is get a flame going. AHA! Your lucky protractor has a tiny magnifying glass on one corner (see, it comes in handy)!! There is just enough sunlight to get a small flame going on your pile of leaves and sticks. Now, should you regain your strength and try to sleep, or stay up and make sure no creatures or people trying to kill you? [[catch those z's]] [[keep watch]]

You decide that you need to find some shelter, because you need to rest up, and you remember when looking through the monocular and seeing that a storm was headed your way. You also remember seeing a small mountain in the middle of the tiny island, so you head into the forest in the direction you remember seeing the mountain. You hike for about a mile and half before you're at what seems like the base of a small mountain. You see some cracks in the granite and keep on looking near the base of this mountain until you finally come across a good enough cave to sleep in. You make a bed of some dry leaves and sticks, and hit the sac. [[next day]]

After a stressful string of events you fall asleep quite easily. You're happily dreaming about a world of cereal, all the best kinds (cinnamon toast crunch, reece's puffs, captain crunch, etc.). It's great that you fall asleep thinking about your favorite thing in the world, other than your lucky protractor, because you don't wak up at all. Last night in your sleep you were gnawed on by very blood thirsty mosquitoes and one singular meat deprived wolf. You're dead. [[Start Over->Begin]]

You stay up and keep warm by the fire. It's very difficult to stay up because you're so tired from all of the stress and adrenaline from earlier today. You manage, scooching closer and closer to the fire as you grow colder in the night with the temperature and your tiredness. Suddenly you hear a rustling in the trees behind you. A pair of glowing eyes attached to a grey furry face appears in the faint, haunting flickering of the fire. [[click here if you didn't pick up the knife]] [[click here if you picked up the knife]]

After a stressful string of events you fall asleep quite easily. You're happily dreaming about a world of cereal, all the best kinds (cinnamon toast crunch, reece's puffs, captain crunch, etc.). You wake up feeling fully refreshed and ready for this new day to look for people or your family. You have decided that you have two options. You can climb to the top of the mountain and get a good look at the whole island, or you can continue through the forrest, searching for clues. [[Climb mountain]] [[Wade through forest]]

You remembered that you slyly grabbed the knife and slipped it into your pocket with your lucky protractor. You whip it out and point it at the wolf. He stares back at you, unphased by this weapon you have unvailed. He stalks towards you. Closer.. closer.. until he's close enough and you lunge towards him. The wolf gets a few scratches and nips in but you skillfully shank him in the neck, and the wolf goes limp on top of you. [[continue]]

The meat deprived wolf comes lunging at you and you have no weapon to protect yourself with, and you're not about to use your lucky protractor and risk losing it if you do happen to hit the wolf with mad ninja throwing skills that you only have in your dreams and not real life. The wolf savagly attacks you and you die a nasty death. [[Sart Over->Begin]]

You now sit by the fire, next to a dead wolf shivering with adrenaline, impressed with yourself. Now, you can either just sit there for the rest of the night and continue sitting next to the wolf, by the fire until morning, or you can gut and skin the wolf to get something in your grumbling stomach. You have decided that your best bet would be to hike up the mountain. It's not too big, and it will give you an idea about if there is any civilization also on the island. It's not too bad of a hike, you collect a few bumps and bruises along the way, but you do eventually get the the peak of the mountain. What a breathtaking view, too. A very dark green island surrounded by a beautiful bluish-green ocean. Wowzers. Pick a direction to look around the island. [[your left]] [[your right]] [[forwards]] [[backwards]]

You sit there in shock of what you've just done. You killed KILLED a living breathing creature. A sense of guilt consumes you and you think of your family. What will they think of you now knowing you've had to kill a beast? Will your vegan family be able to accept you back into their lives after this horrible act? You're eaten up by guilt and shame, and soon you take the knife and stab yourself. You can't live with yourself knowing that you've killed this poor wolf, and your family will now not accept you afterwards. [[Start Over->Begin]]

You hold back your disgust while you cut open the wolf and disect it's organs and pile up the meat and skin. You need food. You're doing a good thing for yourself. Once your done cutting up the wolf, you roast as much of the meat and you can, and start to chow down. by the time you have finsihed eating, the sun has come up. It's a new day, and it's time to start searching for any one who can help you, or your family. [[cont.]]

You look forward and you see the cute little island, and a few animals scurrying through the forest, however you don't see anything in particular that will help you find people. [[look another way->Climb mountain]]

you look behind you, why you chose to look in that direction is beyond you, because all you see is the shore that you originally first set foot on. It's definitely a nice beach, it's just silly to have tried to look that way for civilization. [[look in another direction->Climb mountain]]

You look to your left and towards the edge of the island you see a sign of hope. There's a small dock you can barely make out (with your not so great vision, it's blurry, it could be a huge knocked over tree, but you're hopeful that it's a dock). You decide that that will be the direction in which you will venture, it's will probably take about a day or so to get there. [[descend the mountain]]

You look to your right and you see more ocean, however you can see, out in the distance, a firey blob in the ocean. It's a good thing you escaped the ship when you did because it's now enveloped in huge flames. Either it was set to blow up, or someone hit it with a bomb. Hmm. I guess that's something you'll find out later, when you find your family. [[look in another direction->Climb mountain]]

You're exrtremely tired, but at least now you've got some food in your stomach, and you're ready to continue on. You have decided that you have two options. You can go through the forest and search for people in that way, or you can climb the mountain you remember seeing in the monocular. [[Climb mountain]] [[Wade through forest]]

You descend the mountain and forge on in your journey towards civilization. The journey takes about all day. You feel gross and lonely and you're so ecited when you finally smell the campfires. The sun is setting and shining beautifully through the forest trees. You're so close you can tatse it. You're scared, but you venture on, ready for whatever happens. You're so close, when all of a sudden you hear a rustling in front of you. "HELLO??" you call out. The rustling stops... you hear footsteps approaching you. A silhouette of a person appears in front on you. You're so happy and excited that you start weeping. The silhouette steps into the light and you're surprised to see who it is . . .
